How It All Began

The Staging Point’s story is rooted in decades of passion and expertise. Founder Steve Bloomquist began his career in the 1970s as a touring musician, mastering the art of live production. After stepping off the stage, he became a sales manager at an event company in Minneapolis where he recognized a growing need for reliable staging services. Over time, Steve spearheaded staging divisions for three major companies, refining his craft and building the foundation for The Staging Point.

In 2004, Steve took the leap and launched The Staging Point. With new equipment, a trailer, and a vision, he began serving clients out of an 800-square-foot facility. Today, we operate from a 10,000-square-foot warehouse in Mounds View, Minnesota, proudly serving Minneapolis, St. Paul, and greater Minnesota.

The Staging Point’s name was inspired by a trip along the Lewis and Clark trail. During the journey, Steve and his team learned about the “staging points” that marked the beginning of great expeditions—a perfect metaphor for the role we play in helping clients launch extraordinary events across the Twin Cities.
